PAPA J — A BLACKRIDER LEGEND OF THE ’70s

Image
There are BlackRiders you meet, BlackRiders you ride with, and then there are BlackRider legends whose names have already become part of the road itself. Papa J is one of those men. The man everyone knows. The undefeated drinker, the solid bar customer along Tandang Sora Avenue, and the old-school joker whose humor came from a generation that never bothered asking whether Gen Z would be offended. He was simply Papa J. And if you ever had the privilege of stepping inside his home, you would understand that his house is almost like a museum of the life he has lived. The Nazzi collections, skulls, old-time photographs, biker memorabilia, and countless pieces of history scattered around his home tell stories even before Papa J opens his mouth. Every object seems to carry a memory. Every photograph represents a chapter. Every collection reflects a time when the streets, the bikes, and the brotherhood were different. His home doesn't just preserve things. It preserves memories....

Passing It Forward: A Simple Message, A Powerful Reminder

Image
Words: Hook 📸: Pay It Forward (2000) One day, a message suddenly popped up out of nowhere. At first, it seemed like any ordinary notification. But as the conversation unfolded, it became clear that it carried a story worth telling. The message came from someone whose life had once been touched by the kindness of BlackRiders MC Philippines. Months had passed, circumstances had changed, and now she was reaching out with one simple purpose: to give back. The moment immediately reminded me of the film Pay It Forward, a movie that left a lasting impression on me during my college years as a Literature Major. Back then, films were a significant part of the curriculum and our semestral requirements. We studied cinema not merely as entertainment, but as a reflection of society, human values, and the impact of individual actions. Among the many films we analyzed, Pay It Forward stood out because of its simple yet profound lesson: when someone does something good for you, the best way to repay ...

Hector, The Heart of Every BlackRider

Image
Words: Hook 📸 : AI Generated The BlackRiders Center Patch is known as Hector, a name and design conceived by both Trese and Knuckles 1%er during a time where the BlackRiders MC was trying to find it's permanent identity, inspired by one of the greatest heroes of classical literature: Hector of Troy from Homer's Iliad. More than just a warrior, Hector represents the highest ideals of manhood, duty, loyalty, and honor. His story embodies the spirit that every BlackRider strives to carry, both on and off the road. Unlike many legendary heroes, Hector was not blessed with divine powers. He was not immortal. He was not the favored champion of the gods. He was a husband, a father, a prince, and above all, a mortal man burdened by responsibility. While Achilles possessed unmatched skill in battle and enjoyed the favor and protection of the gods, Hector stood as the defender of his people through nothing more than courage, conviction, and an unwavering sense of duty. One of the most...

Hector Comes First

📸 : Hook a nd Prospect Nelson Posing somewhere in Real Quezon Beach No matter how many voices we hear, no matter how much negativity reaches our ears, we must remain true to what we wear on our backs. Anyone can claim loyalty. Anyone can say they stand with the club. Anyone can say they are doing this for the club. But true loyalty was never meant to belong to one person alone. Our loyalty belongs to the PATCH, the BROTHERHOOD, and the brothers who chose to remain. Whatever happens within these walls stays within these walls. We are a club of our own, bound by our own principles, our own bylaws, our own respect, and our own responsibility to one another. No outside voice should be allowed to divide what we have built together. Protect the reputation built by those who came before us, even when some of those same people have become the ones putting that reputation at risk. We do not destroy the patch to prove a point. We protect it because it is bigger than any individual. We don...

Hubris on Two Wheels: Ego, Ambition, and the Fall of Heroes

Image
Words: Hook 📸: AI Generated Image (Inspired from Gustave Dore's Satan in Paradise Lost)  Throughout history, the greatest tragedies have rarely begun with villains. More often, they begin with heroes. A hero earns admiration through sacrifice, loyalty, courage, and service. People rally behind them because they embody ideals others aspire to reach. Yet many of the most memorable downfalls in literature, history, and legend share a common thread: hubris. It is the belief that one has become too important to fail, too wise to be questioned, or too powerful to fall. The ancient Greeks understood this flaw well. In their tragedies, hubris was often the very force that destroyed great men. Oedipus, a noble king, believed he could outwit fate and ultimately walked directly into it. Macbeth began as a loyal warrior but became consumed by ambition, allowing his desire for power to corrupt his character. Even in John Milton's Paradise Lost, Lucifer's downfall could be traced to pri...

What is it like to be Surrounded by Great People?

Image
Words: Yeshua Immanuel When I say ' great' they don't have to be the smartest, richest, nor a famous celebrity to be one. When I say 'great people', they are those who willingly inspires you, who sees your true potential, and most importantly guides you to be become a better version of yourself.  I was asked once on a job interview, "where do you see yourself in a couple of years?" And I always responded as being part of them for years, even though to myself that is sometimes untrue. Because I am aware of the extreme possibilities that may come in the future. However, It is when you are sorrounded by these great people that you realize that the question that is often answered without certainty, becomes true and certain. It is when you become aware that this is what you have been aspiring for, the one that you see yourself doing even until when you can no longer do it.  The awareness where you feel that when you are sorrounded by these great people, you are...
