The Modern Crusaders and the Search for the True Holy Grail

(Debunking the Romanticized Modern Biker Archetypes as Portrayed by the Media)

A Knight in shining armor in modern public stereotype is mostly portrayed as a Hero. Riding white horses and bringing forth justice. Often, when these knights are in royalty, they are most likely archetyped as a savior of a damsel in distress, like disney princesses being saved by a handsome guy in a suit of armor bringing forth her true love's kiss. Often these literature are bullsh*t. It is most likely the effect of romanticizing literature. True knights in writing were always portrayed as a protector of the Chivalric code. The unending quests for the Holy grail and the unquenchable thirst for war. Mostly respected by the society during Medieval times, they were the symbol of God's men. Ready to fight for the Catholic Faith. Deus Volt!

But in reality, these knights were  vicious as beasts. They were men who raped women and children who were prisoners of war. Often killing innocent civilians viciously all because of an untrue belief in the holy grail and the demonized image of other religions by the Catholic church. They were perceived as men of honor wearing those armors, but deep inside they were rotting of conscience with the thousands of innocent civilians killed.

In status quo, the status of MC club members are often portrayed as gang members. Often related to illegal activities, gang fights and a series of massacres throughout history. It is as if the the world is against them, calling them outlaws of society. The archetype of bikers being tough guys in tattoos and beards who have nothing better to do but to wreak havoc. These are often unfairly portrayed  on the news, in movies (SOA, Mayans, Etc.) and even on stories.

The media has taken control of what we are in this modern times. "We are the bad guys and we should be avoided."

But in reality, we are the opposite of what we are perceived. Just like the knights who were portrayed as heroes, but in reality are only vicious killers, we on the other hand are just ordinary citizens. I see brothers who are fathers just like myself, having day jobs to support their families, paying taxes and obeying the law. It is as if the romantization of the early 70's of the biker archetype has dwelled on until now. Just like a brother's story while entering a food chain, people often looked at him like a criminal, a "hoodlum". Wearing leather vests ready to wreak havoc. What they do not know is that, we are the true knights of this modern society. We protect our ole lady's and treat them fairly. We treat our members like our brothers, we do not lie, we do not betray each other. We work hard enough to fill our belly's and maintain our bikes. We ride to work, proud of wearing our hard earned cuts just like the knights wearing their armors with flags. We follow codes that are common sense just like the chivalric code, but hard enough to follow in modern society, for example: Respect your brother's wife. These in modern society often is the hardest thing to follow, as if it gives modern men the sense of fulfillment f*ck*ng every women they see.

Another example is to keep your word. Often times we hear countless lies even from our closest friends. They lie to us, they make us feel like idiots. Another example is being there for your brother, often when the worse comes, others will forget you. They would not like you, or even remember you. Bikers on Motorcycle Clubs help each other as if they are the closest human beings on the planet. When a brother is sick we donate blood, food, water, and everything in our power. When a brother is lonely we comfort them and make them realize that we are here no matter what happens. When a brother is struggling financially, we are here to offer help. Most modern dudes don't do that. They often seat at your table when you have money and mostly leave when you can no longer afford.

For years, codes that are followed by bikers have survived and have often helped people change their lives for the better. The unquenchable thirst for brotherhood is our holy grail. We strive to help our brothers and those people who are in need. Yes, most of us have tattoos, have beards and are very tough looking guys. But just like you, we co-exist. We are not maniacs, or even criminals. We are here to obey the law, and allow others to experience the code. We are the true knights in steel horses.
